Djokovic matches Federer mark as Sinner, Sabalenka and Gauff reach Wimbledon last 16

Novak Djokovic added another line to his Wimbledon record book on a busy Friday at SW19, beating Arthur Rinderknech 7-5, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(4) to reach the fourth round and move level with Roger Federer on 105 men's singles wins at the Championships.

The seven-time Wimbledon champion was made to work hard on Centre Court, particularly after Rinderknech took the third set, but Djokovic steadied himself in the fourth-set tie-break to keep his campaign alive. He is due to face Roman Safiullin next.

Defending champion Jannik Sinner also reached the last 16, continuing his title defence with a 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 win over Jenson Brooksby on No. 1 Court. After needing five sets in the opening round, Sinner has now put together back-to-back straight-sets wins and remains one of the central figures in the men's draw.

In the women's draw, Aryna Sabalenka came through one of the day's standout match-ups, defeating Jelena Ostapenko 6-4, 6-4. That sets up a fourth-round meeting with Naomi Osaka, who beat Daria Kasatkina 6-1, 6-3 earlier in the day. Coco Gauff also reached the second week, recovering after dropping a second-set tie-break to beat Claire Liu 6-3, 6-7(5), 6-2.

Felix Auger-Aliassime completed another strong men's result, beating qualifier Michael Zheng 7-6, 6-2, 6-1, while the women's fourth-round picture also sharpened with former champion Barbora Krejcikova progressing past Nikola Bartunkova 6-3, 7-5.

Saturday's schedule keeps the momentum high. Iga Swiatek is listed against Alexandra Eala on Centre Court, with Amanda Anisimova facing Madison Keys and Grigor Dimitrov meeting Matteo Berrettini on the same court. No. 1 Court features Elena Rybakina against Elise Mertens, Alexander Zverev against Marcos Giron and Frances Tiafoe against Alexander Bublik, while Arthur Fery is set for another British-interest match against Zizou Bergs on Court 18.

With the second week now taking shape, Wimbledon has reached the point where early-survival stories are turning into title-race signals. Djokovic's milestone, Sinner's efficiency and the looming Sabalenka-Osaka meeting give the tournament several strong threads heading into the middle weekend.
